Fraud victims have intense emotional reactions when they realize their money was stolen in a scam.
THEN, if they report or tell anyone, they are likely to experience contempt, victim-blaming, and judgement.
THEN, they frequently cannot find a counselor/therapist that really “gets” what they have experienced.
These experiences happen too often. But when a supporter understands fraud victimization, a victim has an easier and faster path to healing.
At Psychology of Fraud Victimization, we know how to change this, and we know that change starts with the people just like you. Every kindness, dollar, and moment of your time that you offer helps! Together, we can make a difference for fraud victims, and make mental health support all along their journey possible.
Our mission is to improve mental health support for fraud victims by raising awareness, and making mental health providers more accessible to victims through certification of their knowledge in fraud victimization and by maintaining a searchable directory.
